Frontier College Upset Pabbi College In SBBWU Inter-College Girls Cricket

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Dec, 2016 ) : Frontier College Women Peshawar upset Govt Girls College Pabbi, District Nowshera by just two runs in the opening match of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Inter-College Girls cricket Tournament, which got under way here at Campus ground on Thursday.
Vice Chancellor Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana was the chief guest on this occasion. Organizing Secretary Miss Mariyya Samin, Miss Raham Bibi (Peshawar), Miss Farhad (Nowshera), Miss Suria Khan (Pabbi), Miss Salma Faiz and Roheena Tabasum, players and spectators were also present.
Before the start of the players of all the participation 12 teams were introduced to her. In her brief chat she assured that the University would utilize all out resources to facilitate the students for healthy sports activities.
She said involve the students actually help in building a healthy societies and the University is giving due importance to sports and involving of female students.
In the opening match Frontier College for Women defeated Pabbi College by just two runs in a dramatically ended encounter.
Frontier College for Women skipper Kiran won the toss and decided to bat first by setting up 85 runs target in the 20 overs. It was not a good total wherein Kiran played a captain knock and scored 23 runs with three boundaries, Momina scored 10 runs and Saira added another 10 runs.
For Girls College Pabbi Hadia took two wickets in her two overs spell off 9 runs, Neelan got two wickets for 10 runs in her two overs spell. In reply, Girls College Pabbi bowled out for 83 runs, just two runs short from the winning target.
For Pabbi College Sidra and Maria scored 20 runs each while Huma made 15 runs. For Frontier College Kiran got two wickets for eight runs while Umbareen took three wickets for 9 runs. Thus Frontier College for Women won the match by two runs and marched into next round. APP/ijz/sbr
