Various Projects Started To Meet Demand Of Power'

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th july, 2016) : A number of projects have been started to meet demand of energy sector under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The country had huge reserves of coal and the government had started efforts to use all available resources to overcome energy shortage, a senior official of mines and minerals department Punjab told APP here on Saturday. He said the Sahiwal Coal Power Project of 1200 mw and Pind Dadankhan coal power project of 300 mw would be functional with local coal.
He said the Punjab government was providing incentives and a conducive environment to foreign and local investors for different projects. A positive outcome of such policies had started emerging, he added. There would be substantial improvement in power supply by the end of next year after different power projects will start production, he said.
This will ultimately result in industrial and socio,economic uplift of the country, he added.
