MI Holds Rally To Express Solidarity With Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd july,2016) : MUSLIM Institute (MI) on Saturday organized a rally from China Chowk to National Press Club to show solidarity with Kashmiri people fighting for just cause in the Indian Held Kashmir (IHK). The rally was led by Chairman of Standing Committee for Defense Production Lt.Gen (R) Abdul Qayyum Malik.
Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Former Ambassador Ishtiaq Ahmad Andurabi Leader of All Pakistan Hurriat Conference (APHC) Ghulam Muhammad Saffi, Tahir Sarwar Mir and Coordinator MUSLIM Institute Tahir Mahmood were also present on the occasion.
Large number of people from different walks of life including members of civil society, political and social sector representatives, students, lawyers and journalists, participated in the rally.
The aarticipants carried placards and banners displaying slogans condemning state terrorism by Indian in held valley, Kashmiris' right of self-determination, appreciation for their freedom struggle, solidarity with Kashmiris and urging international community to play its due role for implementation of UN Resolutions. Speakers called the world forums, governments and rights bodies to come forward and raise their voice against atrocities in the Indian-Held Kashmir (IHK). Addressing the participants of rally, the speakers said that India, which claims to be the largest democracy in the world, had killed around 50 Kashmiris and 1,550 sustained injuries to quell the protest during last two weeks.
They stated that the security forces also used pellets, air-gun and tear gas due to which the protesters lost their eyesight in IHK. Due to the killing of Burhan Wani and his companions, the protest demonstrations had escalated for last few weeks after which Indian forces are continuously using the brutal force against the Kashmiri people.
The speakers also noted that journalists are not being allowed to go for covering then events while the mobile and Internet services are also not functioning in the area. "India is using the false propaganda to declare the freedom movement as terrorism but it has failed", they said.
Speakers emphasizes that they should use the social media and other sources to raise the voice for Kashmiris freedom struggle. They said that Pakistani nation stands with Kashmiri people and will continue political, diplomatic and moral support till freedom from Indian occupation forces.
Kashmir is a disputed territory and UN Security Council had passed the resolutions to hold free and fair plebiscite in the valley, allowing native community to decide their fate according to their own will, they said adding, unfortunately after lapse of almost half century, the UN body failed to implement its resolution. Speakers pointed out that draconian laws have been enforced in Held Kashmir by India to suppress the just demand for the self-determination. "Kashmir issue should be resolved in conformity with UNSC Resolutions in line with the will of people of Kashmir on humanitarian basis and international community should play an effective role for this", they urged. The human rights organizations should take notice of flagrant violations of fundamental human rights by Indian state apparatus and declare the same as state terrorism, they added. Speakers further said that Pakistan should adhere to its principled stance of right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir, and Muslim countries should put diplomatic and political pressure on India so that it resolves the issue according to its pledges.
