IED Explosion: LEAs Round Up Over A Dozen Suspects

HYDERABAD, Dec 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Dec, 2016 ) : In the wake of an explosion near the Sindh Agriculture University which left a Rangers personnel slightly injured, the Rangers and Hyderabad police here Friday conducted a search operation and rounded up over a dozen suspects.
The police spokesman informed that the search operation was carried out in the university's boys hostel and the residential colony. Earlier the SSP Hyderabad Irfan Baloch told the APP that the banned nationalist outfit Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz was involved in the attack.
"The attack carries the signature of this banned outfit," he said ruling out the involvement of the groups like the TTP. He went on to accuse the Indian espionage agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) for patronizing such terrorist groups and masterminding the attacks.
According to him, the target of the attack was Rangers whose mobile van performed routine patrolling in the area. Meanwhile, the Bomb Disposal Squad's In Charge Ramzan Panhwar told the APP that explosive material weighing around 250 to 300 grams, a grenade and a pressure cooker which were set off with a remote control were used in the blast.
However, the grenade did not explode due to low quantity of the explosives while the bicycle on whose carrier the bomb was placed was partially damaged. The incident's FIR was lodged in the evening at Tando Jam police station on the state's complaint nominating unknown attackers.
