Sindhi, Nazra Quran Teaching Be Ensured In Private Schools: Mehtab

KARACHI, Dec 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Dec, 2016 ) : Sindh Minister for education and Literacy, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar Thursday said that all the private schools are bound to teach Sindhi language, Nazra Quran and Islamiat in their schools, and Ethics as well on need basis.
The minister in a meeting with the representatives of private schools, here, said that coordination needed to be improved between private schools and the Sindh Education Department, said a statement issued here.
Special Secretaries Aliya Shahid and Zakir Hussain Shah, Director General Private Institutions Dr. Mansoob Siddiqui, Jamil Yosuf Chairman Trust school, Khalid Shah Chairman All Sindh Private Schools Association, among others, attended the meeting.
Director General Mansoob Siddiqui told the meeting that almost all the private schools were teaching Sindhi language and if he received any complaint action was taken against the violator. The minister directed the Special Secretary to coordinate with the Home Department for the issuance of arms licences to private schools management on a priority basis.
He said that schools management should ensure the safety of students and comply with the orders of the Home Department and furnish details to the Police and Rangers. He also called for complying with the judgment of the Sindh High Court regarding any increase in tuition fee and enforcement of the Sindh Private Educational Institutions Ordinance 2001 amended Act 2003 and Rules 2005.
Earlier, the Minister for Education paid a surprise visit to the offices of the Education Department and found more than 30 employees including Additional Secretary, Section officers and other staff "were late comers".
He directed the Special Secretary to issue explanation letters to the absent/latecomer staff. He also expressed resentment over poor cleanliness conditions and ordered action against responsible staff.
