Egypt Ready To Expand Defence Ties With Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Dec 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Dec, 2016 ) : Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain met President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi at Ittihadiya Palace, Cairo. Recalling the close brotherly relations that so happily exist between the peoples of our two countries, President El-Sisi underlined the need to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly nations, a message received here on Thursday stated.
He said the relations in all the domains, especially in defence production should be undertaken and added that both countries may benefit from each other's expertise. President El-Sisi called for greater cooperation among brotherly countries to face contemporary challenges besetting the Islamic Ummah.
The Egyptian side evinced keen interest in acquiring JF-17 Thunder aircraft and other military equipment from Pakistan. The meeting expressed desire for collaboration in joint production of certain defence equipments and showed agreement to exchange expert level delegations to work out modalities for further cooperation.
Later, Ambassador of Pakistan Mushtaq Ali Shah, hosted a dinner for the minister, which was attended by the Egyptian Minister for Military Production and senior officials from the ministries of Defence, Military Production and Foreign Affairs.
