In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement (JKPM) has paid glowing tribute to the noted Islamic scholar and leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Gundna, who passed away after a prolonged illness on Sunday
The JKPM Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem in a statement issued in Jammu said that the JI leader devoted his whole life for the service of islam and humanity.
He said in early nineties Ghulam Nabi Gundna was subjected to the worst kind of physical and mental torture by the Indian agencies, according to Kashmir Media Service.
He also condemned imposition of curfew in Kishtwar on the day of Gundna's funeral, preventing thousands of people from participating in his last rites.
Saleem said that occupied Kashmir had been under a lockdown for the last 47 days and called upon the Indian civil society and the world community to come to the rescue of besieged Kashmiris.
