TOKYO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2019) Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will attend the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said on Friday.
"Prime Minister Abe will visit New York from September 23-26, the Belgian capital of Brussels from September 26-28. In New York, he will address the 74th session of the UN General Assembly to present our country's contribution to solving global problems. [Abe] will also hold top-level meetings with the leaders of the United States and Iran," Suga noted.
In turn, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said that Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi would also visit New York to take part in the session of the UN General Assembly from September 22-28.
The foreign minister is going to hold a number of bilateral meetings as well as participate in various international conferences on the sidelines of the event.
The 74th session of the UN General Assembly opened on Friday and will come to an end on September 30.
