Russia's Krasnodar, CSKA Suffer Crushing Defeats In First Matches Of UEFA Europa League

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2019) Both Russian football clubs - Krasnodar and CSKA Moscow - started on Thursday their performance in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League with crushing defeats from Switzerland's Basel (5-0) and Bulgaria's Ludogorets (5-1), respectively.

Basel's goals were scored by midfielder Kevin Bua (9th and 40th minutes), midfielder Luca Zuffi (52nd minute) and midfielder Noah Okafor (79th minute). Moreover, Krasnodar's midfielder Tonny Vilhena scored an own goal in the 55th minute.

Ludogorets' forward Claudiu Keseru scored a hat-trick (52nd, 68th and 73rd minutes), while two more goals were scored by another forward Jody Lukoki (50th minute) and midfielder Wanderson (48th minute). The only goal of CSKA Moscow was scored by defender Igor Diveev in the 11th minute.

CSKA Moscow will also face Spain's Espanyol and Hungary's Ferencvaros in Group H, while Krasnodar will play with Spain's Getafe and Turkey's Trabzonspor along with Basel in Group C.
