IZHEVSK (Russia) (Pakistan Point news / Sputnik - 19th September, 2019) Russian Defense Ministry and Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol will sign long-term contracts for the supply of Tor-M2 and Tor-M2DT air defense missile systems in 2019-2027 worth about 100 billion rubles (some $1.6 bln), Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of Russia's military-industrial commission on Thursday.
"After the meeting of the commission another important event will take place - two long-term contracts will be signed between Izhevsk Kupol plant and the Ministry of Defense for a total amount of almost 100 billion rubles," Putin said.
"In accordance with contracts, division sets of Tor-M2 and Tor-M2DT air defense systems will be produced and delivered to the troops in 2019-2027," the president added.
