CAIRO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th September, 2019) A Saudi officer and two Yemeni soldiers were killed on Thursday as a result of an explosive device detonating in the eastern Yemeni region of Hadhramaut while the men were trying to dismantle it, a source in the local authorities told Sputnik."An explosion took place when the Saudi and Yemeni servicemen were trying to dismantle a device in the western Hadhramaut governorate," the source reported.
According to the source, several other servicemen were injured, but did not specify which country's military they belonged to.
Yemen has been engulfed in an armed conflict between the government forces, led by President Abdrabuh Mansour Hadi, and the rebel Houthi movement for several years now. The Saudi-led coalition has been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthis at Hadi's request since March 2015.
