Water Level In Mangla Dam Risen To 1,227.45 Feet

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 22th july, 2016): Following torrential rains and melting of snow on the top upper reaches the water level in Mangla Dam is raising swiftly, official sources confirmed. The water level raised to 1,227.45 feet in Mangla reservoir on Friday against the maximum conservation level of 1242 feet, live storage 6.280 MAF on Friday.
Minimum operating level in the reservoir is 1,040 feet. The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under: Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-inflows 189,300 cusecs and outflows 190,000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: inflows 41,500 cusecs and outflows 41,500 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- inflows 28,600 cusecs and outflows 10,000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- inflows 57,100 cusecs and outflows 22,200 cusecs. Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 250,300 cusecs and outflows 242,500 cusecs, Chashma -inflows 252,000 cusecs and outflows 240,000 cusecs, Taunsa- inflows 292,600 cusecs and outflows 265,000 cusecs, Panjnad- inflows 29,200 cusecs and outflows 13,500 cusecs, Guddu- inflows 273,000 cusecs and outflows 238,600 cusecs, Sukkur- inflows 199,300 cusecs and outflows 143,500 cusecs, Kotri-inflows 112,900 cusecs and outflows 73,400 cusecs.
Reservoirs: Level and Storage: Tarbela- Minimum operating level 1,380 feet, present level 1,519.40 feet, maximum conservation level 1,550 feet, live storage today 4.652 million acre feet (MAF). Mangla- Minimum operating level 1,040 feet, present level 1,227.45 feet, maximum conservation level 1,242 feet, live storage today 6.280 MAF. Chashma- Minimum operating level 637 feet, present level 643 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.093 MAF. The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
