Three Accused Remanded To Police In Millat Park Case

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Nov, 2016 ) : An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday handed over three accused involved in killing five people earlier this month for resisting a robbery at a Millat Park shop to police on a seven-day physical remand.
Earlier, the CIA Iqbal Town police produced the accused, including Zahid Ali, Zaheer Abbas and Muhammad Jehnagir, before ATC-IV Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas. The police briefed the court that the accused had been arrested in connection with Millat Park killings and robbery case.
The police requested the court to grant 20-day physical remand of the accused for investigation purposes as robbery money, arms and other items were still to be recovered from them.
However, the court handed over the accused to police on a seven-day remand and directed to produce them on expiry of the remand term.
Three armed men had shot dead a Paan-shop owner, his son and three customers for resisting a robbery near Pakki Thatti. The suspects escaped leaving the victims injured on the spot, four of whom died in the hospital the same day. The fifth victim, an unidentified customer, died a day after the incident. Millat Park police had lodged a case against the unidentified assailants.
