Polling For LA-37, Valley II Seat Concludes Peacefully

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21th july, 2016) : Polling for LA-37 (Valley II) seat for Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly concluded in a peaceful and smooth manner on Thursday. As many as registered 3,935 (male and women) Pakistan-based Jammu & Kashmir refugees settled in Lahore exercised their right to franchise.
Earlier, polling started at 8:00 am and concluded at 5:00 pm without any pause, however, voters present in the polling stations were allowed to cast their votes. The AJK Election Commission made necessary arrangements for free, fair and transparent elections.
When contacted Election Commission sources, they expressed extreme satisfaction over the peaceful voting process.
"Polling staff stationed at various polling stations performed their duties freely and without any unrest," they said adding that candidates and their supporters extended fullest cooperation with the polling staff.
A candidate of a political party at Govt Chishtia High school, Islamapura, while talking to this scribe expressed satisfaction over turn out during polling hour. Strict security measures were adopted by local administration and police to deal with any untoward incident.
