City University Partnership With ABE UK Good Omen For Promotion Of Education: Minister

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21th july, 2016) : Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan said that partnership of ABE-UK and City University a good omen for the province and maintained that such partnerships were need of the hour and other universities should also make such partnerships for the development and bright future of the people.
He assured his all supports in this respect on behalf of the provincial government. This he stated while addressing the launching ceremony of ABE-UK and City University Peshawar Partnership at City University of Science and Information Technology Peshawar on Thursday.
The ceremony beside others, was also address by the CEO ABE-UK Mr. Gareth Robinson, Acting President KPCCI Ammad Khalid Rasheed, former Provincial Minister Haji Javed and VC City University while attended by the CEO City University Abdul Saboor Sethi, Educationists, Professors and students of the university and large number.
Atif said that education was not remained priority of the past governments and due to their this attitude it was in deterioration.
He said that 10000 schools were without toilets, 8000 without electricity and more than 7500 without boundary wall in the province on which the government has so far spent Rs.17 billion. Education minister contained that nations were built with the promotion of education that was why education was the high priority area of the PTI led provincial government and record allocation of Rs.111.52 billion has been made in the current budget.
He further said that the government has inked an agreement with British Council for imparting training of English medium of instruction to 83000 Primary school teachers.
