HMC Admin Averts Strike Call Through Contingency Plan

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2016 ) : Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Administration on Tuesday averted a strike call by Coordination Council of Doctors (CCD) through last minutes contingency plan and all doctors delivered medical services at OPD, OT and Accident and Emergency Unit.
A spokesman of HMC Tohid Zulfiqar told APP that the administration came to know that CCD had planned a strike call for professional health allowance, adding the administration through timely action averted the strike call and ensured presence of all doctors at OPD, OT, Accident and Emergency Unit, Radiology, Pathology Lab and wards for facilitation of patients.
She said that House Officers were involved in shifting patients, the managers and clerical staff managed the counters, private janitor staff hired by the hospital acted as porters.
She told that even the 1122 staff helped the hospital administration in patients' flow, while all the doctors were present on the duty and extended the services as per routine.
The health sector being the top most priority of the PTI led KP government was still facing with lot of problems as strikes and protests by officials associated with health sector across the province had become a routine matter.
It is to mention here that PTI chief Imran Khan has appointed Dr. Nosherwan Burki, who was chairman Shaukat Khanam Hospital, as head of the board of Directors of KP's biggest teaching hospitals in provincial capital to introduce reforms in health sector but to in vain.
