SOFIA, , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2016 ) - Bulgarian police said Tuesday that they found the dead body of an 18-year-old Afghan who died from cold and hunger trying to cross the border into Serbia.
More than 10,000 migrants are stuck in EU member Bulgaria, prevented from continuing their journeys from Turkey to western Europe after Serbia tightened border controls.
On November 15 border guards intercepted a record 125 migrants trying to cross in a single day in the same north-eastern region of Bulgaria where the Afghan man died.
His death is the first this winter. Last winter nine people froze to death in four different cases at the Turkish and Serbian borders.
