Mohsin Dawar arrested from North Waziristan

A group of PTM activists, including parliamentarians Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir, had approached a check post in the North Waziristan area of Khar Qamar, in Boya on May 26. 

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 30th May, 2019) Member National Assembly of the Pashtoon Tahffuz Movement (PTM) has been arrested from North Waziristan.

According to media reports, Mohsin Dawar was missing after the attack on an army check-post in the area.

A gunfire was reported as a group of PTM activists, including parliamentarians Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir, approached a check post in the North Waziristan area of Khar Qamar, in Boya on May 26.

According to a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the aim of attack at the check post was to exert pressure for release of suspected terrorists' facilitator, arrested on May 25.

"Troops at the check post exercised maximum restraint in the face of provocation and direct firing on the post," the ISPR said.

"Due to firing of the group five army soldiers got injured. In exchange of fire, three individuals who attacked the post lost their lives and ten got injured. All injured evacuated to Army Hospital for treatment," the ISPR added.

The ISPR also said that Ali Wazir along with eight individuals was arrested, while Mohsin Javed was at large after inciting the crowd.

According to PTM, 45 of their activists were wounded by firing.
