MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th May, 2019) French President Emmanuel Macron said Tuesday he believed experienced EU officials like European Commission Vice-President Frans Timmermans, Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager and Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier could fill top EU jobs."We must take note of the will expressed by the people and this why we need to have decision-makers [in top jobs] who have the trust for their ability to act. She [Vestager] and Mr. Barnier and Mr. Timmermans and many others are the people who have this competence," he told reporters.
EU leaders have gathered in Brussels for a dinner where they are expected to discuss a shortlist of candidates to replace presidents of the European Commission and the European Council, the EU central banker and the EU foreign policy and security chief after last Sunday's elections to the European Parliament.
