Transneft Must Compensate Losses From Contaminated Oil Supply to Poland - Prime Minister

The Russian side must compensate losses from the supply of contaminated oil to Poland, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press briefing in Warsaw on Tuesday

WARSAW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st May, 2019) The Russian side must compensate losses from the supply of contaminated oil to Poland, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press briefing in Warsaw on Tuesday.

The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline arose in mid-April. As a result, the transit of oil to Europe through Belarus, Ukraine and Poland was suspended. Transneft recognized the high content of chlorides in it and announced the adoption of measures to resolve the problem as soon as possible. On May 2, uncontaminated oil from Russia arrived at the Belarusian border.

"Russian suppliers have made very serious logistical and operational errors, and they should be held responsible for this. Russian firms must be held financially responsible," Morawiecki said.
