KHABAROVSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st May, 2019) Russia's Eastern Military District is due to receive over 1,500 modern equipment and weapons, which is 1.5 times more than in 2018, Commander of Eastern Military District Gennady Zhidko said on Tuesday.
"This year more than 1,500 advanced weapons and equipment are expected to be received by the district's troops," he stated.
In 2018, the district received about 1,000 new equipment and weapons.
He noted that the region is expected to receive S-400 anti-aircraft weapon systems. The servicemen are already training with the upgraded Mikoyan MiG-31BM interceptors, T-80BV main battle tanks and Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles.
