MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th May, 2019) The European Investment Bank has approved disbursements from the Juncker Fund worth an equivalent of almost 400 billion euro ($445 billion) to finance new infrastructure and innovation projects in EU member states, the European Commission said Monday."Following the latest meeting of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Board of Directors, the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) - the Juncker Fund - is now expected to trigger 398.6 billion in investments," the press release read.
Some 949,000 start-ups and small and medium-sized businesses in Europe stand to benefit from improved access to finance. The approved deals are located in all 28 member states, with Greece, Estonia, Bulgaria, Portugal and Latvia expected to benefit the most.
