Polling Continues In Kotli

KOTLI, Azad Kashmir, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st july,2016) : Polling is in progress in the five Constituencies of District Kotli for Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections. Like other districts and 12 constituencies of refugees, spreading all over Pakistan's four provinces, polling will continue without any break till 5:00 pm, however voters present at the polling stations will be allowed to cast their vote even after expiry of the time. AJK Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to conduct elections in a free, fair and transparent manner.
Special security arrangements have been made by deploying personnel of Pakistan Army, Rangers, Frontier Constabulary and Police to maintain law and order.
District Kotli surpasses AJK's all districts in the number of voters as it has a total of 442,839 voters - 246,230 male and 196,609 female voters. Though a total of 47 candidates are in the run from five constituencies of Kotli, the main stakeholders in the politics here include Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People's Party Azad and the coalition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Azad Kashmir and All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference.
