MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th May, 2019) The first OneWeb satellites that are to be launched into orbit aboard Soyuz-2 carrier rockets will be transported to the Baikonur cosmodrome in late summer or early fall, while deliveries to the Vostochny cosmodrome are planned for the beginning of 2020, a source at the Baikonur told Sputnik.

UK-based OneWeb plans to create a constellation of satellites that will provide broadband internet access to users around the world.

"Deliveries of OneWeb satellites to the Baikonur cosmodrome will start in late summer or early fall of 2019, and [deliveries] to the Vostochny cosmodrome [will begin] in early 2020," the source said, adding that a training mission using a model of OneWeb spacecraft to prepare for the launches was planned.

In 2015, Russian Space Agency Roscosmos signed contracts with OneWeb and France's Arianespace to carry out a total of 21 commercial launches from French Guiana's Kourou, as well as Russia's Baikonur and Vostochny spaceports, to send 672 satellites to space with the help of Soyuz rockets.
