Black day observed in Hong Kong to support Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th july, 2016) : Pakistan will continue to extend its moral and diplomatic support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who are struggling for their just right of self-determination. This was stated by Consul General of Pakistan, Abdul Qadir Memon while speaking at a ceremony held in Hong Kong to observe Black Day and pay tribute to Shuhada-e-Kashmir by the Pakistani community on Wednesday. On this accession, the Consul General Abdul Qadir Memon said that Pakistan demanded the Indian Government to stop the human rights violation to Kashmiri people and implement the UN Security Council resolutions to settle the Kashmir dispute, according to a message received here from Hong Kong. The Consul General further emphasized that the current situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) was in fact the result of the continued denial by India of the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people through a free and fair plebiscite under the UN auspices that was assured by the UN in its multiple resolutions.

He said the people of Pakistan stood with the Kashmiri people in this hour of grief. Consul General of Pakistan along with a large numbers of Pakistani community showed their solidarity and support with Kashmiri people and attended this special event. The day commenced with the special prayers for the Kashmiri martyrs. A number of events were held to pay tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir struggle and highlighted the brutality of Indian armed forces in suppressing the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people in IOK. Kashmir Council of Hong Kong also organized a seminar to mark the protest. Representatives of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, Pakistan Islamic Welfare Union, Hong Kong, Bazme Sukhan, Kashmir Daily and Betterment for Ethnic Minorities of Hong Kong attended the event. At the end the participants marched to the UN Office and Indian Consulate to submit the Memorandum.
