RPO Conference Reviews Crime Situation In Punjab

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th july, 2016) : A RPO conference led by Inspector General of Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera was held at Central Police Office (CPO) here on Wednesday to review crime situation and evolve a strategy regarding preventive policing particularly for the protection of women and children. The arrest of hardened criminals, re-fixation of seniority and holding of departmental promotion boards for affectees of out of turn promotion case, implementation of IT projects, revamping of Elite Police and security arrangements for elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir were also reviewed in the meeting. The RPOs and DPOs through video link whereas Addl IGPs, including Usman Khattak, Sohail Khan, Arif Nawaz, Amjad Javed, Dr.
Arif Mushtaq, Faisal Shahkar, CCPO Lahore Amin Wainse, Ali Zulnorain, Rai Muhammad Tahir, attended the conference too. The conference reassessed the crime situation for the last six months and expressed satisfaction that as compare to the previous year during the period heinous crime reduced specially the murder cases.
The murder case percentage was reduced to -5 while kidnapping for ransom -61, dacoity/robbery with murder -8, dacoity -36, robbery -20, vehicle snatching -25 and vehicle theft -9 have been recorded. The IGP directed field officers to update the record of hardened POs so that their arrest could be ensured.
To provide relief to affectees of out of turn promotion cases, decision of holding departmental promotions, re-fixation of their seniorities and completion of ACRs were also finalized in the conference.
It was also decided that the Elite Police Force would be revamped to improve its performance and standards. The IGP was told that Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) had been completed and all postings and transfers were being made through this system.
Mushtaq Sukhera said with the help of this system, police could provide relief to the public by saving their money and time. He also directed officers to ensure the implementation of all IT projects of the Punjab police. The conference also reviewed security arrangements and deployment on elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The conference was briefed that for the protection and security of 414,141 voters at 828 polling stations established in 30 districts of the Punjab, 11,964 police officials would remain on duty. As many as 29 SPs, 103 DSPs, 208 inspectors, 516 sub-inspectors, 810 ASIs, 584 HCs, 6,609 constable and 2,981 Police Qaumi Razakars will perform their duties
