CSS exam can now be given in Urdu as well

The resolution to add Urdu as an optional language to give CSS exam was unanimously passed in Senate.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 13th May, 2019) The candidates will now be able to take the exams for Central Superior Service (CSS) in urdu as well.

Senate has approved a resolution in this regard.

According to details, Senator Sirajul Haq had presented the resolution in the upper house on Monday, demanding that CSS exams be taken in Urdu.

The resolution stated that the exams for superior services should be taken in national language Urdu instead of English.

The government had opposed this resolution.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Khan said that CSS has 45 optional and 6 compulsory subjects. The compulsory subjects are taught in English in universities.

He said that the candidates should have a choice to opt for the language.

To this, Sirajul Haq quoted a report of Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) stating that only five per cent candidates pass the compulsory subjects.

He said that constitution is a sacred document. According to the constitution, the Urdu language had to be implemented after 15 years but it has been 70 years since Urdu could not be made the official language.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader said that our children learn five languages, adding that China, Japan and other countries developed through their national language.

He said that we can progress by conducting CSS exam in Urdu.

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani then decided to add Urdu as an optional language in the exam.

The resolution to add Urdu as an optional language to give CSS exam was unanimously passed in Senate. According to the amendment, the CSS exam can now be given in Urdu along with English.
