Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 13th May, 2019) Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khurshid Shah has demanded a raise of 50 per cent in the salaries of government employees.
He said that if the government did not increase the salaries of government employees, people would take to roads.
The senior politician said, “Unfortunately, Imran Khan can never mince some nice words. He had warned that he would bring a Tsunami and Tsunami only means destruction.”
He said that a motorcyclist used to get petrol for Rs50 is now forced to buy it for Rs150.
Recalling how the PPP government battled terrorism, flood and Swat Operation, he said that we never let people die of hunger.
Demanding a 50 per cent raise in salaries of government employees, he said that this would somewhat reduce the difficulties of people.
Earlier, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif had also demanded an increase in the minimum wages of private and government employees.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president had demanded an immediate increase of Rs 3,000 in the salaries of private and government employees ahead of Ramzan.
He demanded that the minimum wage of the employees should be at least Rs 18,000 in view of the rising inflation.
He said that a 20 per cent increment should be given to those earning up to Rs 100,000 per month.
