Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 9th May, 2019) Another incident of lesbian marriage has surfaced in Pakistan as two girls married each other in Gujrat.
According to a report published in a local newspaper, a girl named Sobia, who had come from Norway, tied the knot to the owner of a beauty parlour Mehwish, by promising her to take her to Norway.
As more and more people came to know about this marriage, both of the girls disappeared. Sobia left Pakistan under pressure while Mehwish was forced to close her beauty salon.
Same-sex marriage is a criminal offence in Pakistan but reports of such marriages keep surfacing.
Earlier in December 2018, two homosexual girls, Sobia and Shiza, had married each other in Lahore.
Sobia’s mother said that her daughter often said that she loves Shiza and is going to marry her. Sobia even used to say that she would shoot anyone trying to get in their way. The mother said that Shiza and Sobia used to spend the night together.
Sobia’s neighbours had testified that the girl is an addict and had ordered alcohol as well.
The neighbours alleged that Manawan Police Station SHO was protecting the girls.
