MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th May, 2019) Bangladeshi Biman Airlines' plane with 29 passengers on board skidded off runway when landing in an airport in Myanmar, a representative of the airline told Sputnik.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Myanmar Times newspaper reported on a crash of the plane at the Yangon International Airport. The airline representative originally said there may have been a crash landing.

"It was not a crash landing. Our aircraft landed in the Yangon International Airport under very bad weather conditions. There was a thunder storm. The aircraft skidded off the runway. All of the passengers and crew are safe now. There were 28 passengers and one infant on the plane. There were two cockpit crew and two cabin crew on the flight," Shakil Meraj said.

According to the Biman spokesman, some passengers had "minor injuries," but there were no deaths.

"We're not sure [if anyone needed to be treated in a hospital]. We're still trying to gather more information from there," the airline representative said.
