Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 2nd May, 2019) Prime Minister Imran Khan has laid the foundation ston of Mohmand Dam.

The ground-breaking was held at the project site at Swat River, about five-kilometres upstream of Munda Headworks, Mohmand district.
Several Federal ministers and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mehmood Khan also attended the ceremony.
The government has awarded the contract of construction of dam to Descon Company. Rs 183 billion will be spent on the project.Dam will be constructed at River Swat in K-P province.
The dam will generate 800 mega watts of electricity besides water storage capacity of 1.2 MAF.
The locals of Charsadda, Nowshera and Peshawar will also be saved from flooding water after construction of Dam.16,000 acre additional land will be brought under cultivation besides supplying water to 1,60,000 acre land. Locals of Peshawar will be provided 300 million gallon clear drinking water. The dam will yield benefit of Rs 52 million annually benefit .
