FuturePro Tennis Academy dominated the Dubai Sports Council UAE Tennis League, winning three of the four titles on offer
DUBAI (Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2019 ) FuturePro Tennis Academy dominated the Dubai Sports Council UAE Tennis League, winning three of the four titles on offer.
The FPTA - a brainchild of former India national champion Radhika Tulpule-Kanitkar that operates from 10 centres in Dubai, three in India and one in Argentina - clinched the Men’s league title as well as the Boys’ and Girls’ Under-16 crowns. Zayed Abbas Academy, however, stopped FuturePro from making a clean sweep, defeating them 2-0 in the semis of the Juniors’ Under-12 before going on to beat CF Tennis 2-1 for the title. In the final of the Men’s league, FuturePro defeated Racket Academy 2-1 after blanking Tame Academy 2-0 in the semis. Racket had defeated the UAE team 2-0 in the other semis. In the Boys’ U16 league, FuturePro stopped Racket in the semi-final stage itself, winning the contest 2-1 before going on to subdue los Atlatos 2-0 in the final. FuturePro defeated Zayed Abbas Academy 2-0 in the Girls’ U16 final, after coming up short against Zayed Abbas’ U12 team in the juniors’ semis. The three titles meant FuturePro finished with more than double the points of the second-placed team in the UAE League general points table – they finished with 35 points to Zayed Abbas Academy’s 17. Zayed Abbas Academy, however, topped the charts in the UAE Talent Identification Program, winning the UAE Kids’ Under-8 final and finishing at the top of the general points table with 52 points, five more than second-placed Emirates Tennis Academy. Zayed Abbas Academy defeated Emirates Tennis Academy 4-3 in the u8 final, while TPS Tennis Academy won the UAE Kids’ U10 final after CF Tennis defaulted.
