Unsterilised dental instruments cause viral infection to Shadab Khan

Shadab had paid a visit to a dentist in Rawalpindi a few days ago for a tooth-related issue.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 1st May, 2019) Pakistan wrist spinner Shadab Khan has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C, becoming a cause of his possible unavailability for the ICC cricket World Cup 2019.

According to media reports, Shadab’s blood-borne disease was caused by improperly sterilized dental instruments.

Shadab had paid a visit to a dentist in Rawalpindi a few days ago for a tooth-related issue. It was at this dentist that he contracted hepatitis C as he came in contact with unsterilised dental instruments.

It was after his visit to the doctor that Shadab was diagnosed with a viral infection.

Pakistan wrist-spinner Shadab Khan returned home from London on April 29 following his appointment with Dr Patrick Kennedy, world renowned gastroenterologist and hepatologist with a special interest in liver disease in elite sportsmen.

Shadab was ruled out of Pakistan team for the tour of England after he was diagnosed with a viral infection in his blood.

Shadab has been put on medication and has also been advised complete rest for two weeks, following which he will undergo another round of blood tests in Lahore after which there will be more clarity on his availability for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
