Ali Zafar claims to have 11 witnesses from jam Meesha accused him at

He asked Meesha Shafi to apologise or face the court.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 30th April, 2019) Singer cum actor Ali Zafar has claimed to have 11 witnesses from the jam where Meesha Shafi accused him of sexual harassment.

Taking to Twitter, Ali Zafar said, “Nobody expected you to carry a GoPro Meesha, luckily I had something close to it at the jam you accused me at.”

Adding that he has 11 witnesses from this jam, he said two of the female witnesses went to court several times to testify against her but proceedings were delayed.

He asked Meesha Shafi to apologise or face the court.

Meesha Shafi had alleged her colleague Ali Zafar of sexual harassment in a tweet in June, 2018.

The case is currently under proceeding in the court.

Meanwhile, Meesha Shafi appeared on a tv show last night to respond to Ali Zafar’s claims of false harassment allegations levelled against him.

Meesha said that she will appear in the court whenever it summons her.

Speaking on the show about Ali Zafar’s call for her to face the court instead of using social media as her defence, Meesha said she has not been avoiding the hearings; she has not been summoned by the court yet.

"I will appear before the court whenever it summons me," she said.

The singer also claimed to have a number of witnesses who are willing to go on record against Ali Zafar, which will be taken as evidence under harassment laws.

About why it took months for her to go public with the allegations, Meesha said, “She had blocked it out after it happened.”

She said that she was not thinking about the incident but she had promised herself to never be in such a vulnerable situation again.

"I had made a promise to myself that, after what I had experienced firsthand that I would not put myself in such a situation where I would feel vulnerable like this," she said.

The singer also said that she had a two-hour long meeting with Ali Zafar's representatives last year before she went public with sexual harassment allegations against him.

She said that she initially wanted to resolve the issue personally and not make it public, adding that she had communicated this to Ali Zafar through representatives but he insisted her to come to his place to talk about it.

Meesha said that she had responded to Ali Zafar’s offer to apologise as well but he only requested her to meet him at his place, without telling how the issue would be resolved.

Meesha further said that she only performed in a concert with Ali Zafar’s under the pressure of organisers as it was part of the agreement as per the professional contract.

Ali Zafar breaks into tears

Earlier on Sunday, Ali Zafar appeared in a TV show to speak about the sexual harassment allegations levelled against him fellow singer Meesha Shafi.

Speaking at the show, Ali Zafar broke down into tears and asked Meesha Shafi to end the fiasco.

“I have stayed silent over this issue for a year but whenever an allegation like this is placed on any man or woman, it completely destroys them,” he said.

When asked why Meesha Shafi would level baseless accusations against him just for fame, he said Meesha can tell this better.

“I don’t know why she is doing this, you should ask her. She should come to the court and reveal what her intention was,” he said.

He went on to say, “She had been performing with me on the stage, if she was harassed, why did she message me after that saying ‘Had a great time jamming and performing. Grateful for the kind word Ali has to say on stage.’ Would a woman who has just gotten harassed say that to her harasser?”

Ali Zafar also condemned the social media campaign against him and also called out Meesha’s lawyer Nighat Dad’s language.

He asked Meesha to resolve the matter, saying, “If you put one foot forward I will come ten steps forward.”

He also said that if he wins the case, he will dedicate the defamation money to issues faced by women.
