Resham extends support to Ali Zafar amid conflict with Meesha Shafi

In her recent Instagram post, Resham posted a video of herself with Ali Zafar and said she is proud to know this man.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 27th April, 2019) Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi continue to be at conflict with each other over the sexual harassment controversy.

Amid this conflict, the showbiz celebrities are also giving their two cents over the issue.

While most celebrities are supporting Meesha Shafi, there is one actress who continues to be at Ali Zafar’s side.

Film and tv actress Resham has repeatedly extended her support to Ali Zafar.

In her recent Instagram post, Resham posted a video of herself with Ali Zafar and said she is proud to know this man.

“How in the face of cruelty he has continued to remain calm and graceful. I have seen his truth and can confidently say, when it comes out in front of the world, it will shock everyone,” she wrote.

This is not the first time Resham has spoken in Ali Zafar's favour.

Earlier while speaking at a TV program, Resham said that we feel a blow whenever we hear something like this about an artist who promotes Pakistan’s name abroad.

She said that whenever I talked to Ali Zafar, I never found him indecent. “I don’t think he can do something like that. We attended his wedding and meet him at various parties and award shows but he never did anything like that. He neither faced any scandal in his career nor did he do something to bring a bad name to Pakistan. I know him for 19, 20 years and according to my personal experience, he is a good human being and a good friend,” she said.

Singer cum actor Ali Zafar, while taking a dig at fellow singer Meesha Shafi, on Saturday said that Meesha wants to become Malala by targeting him.

Ali Zafar had appeared before a local court in Lahore for a hearing sexual harassment case on Saturday.

Speaking to media in the court, Ali Zafar said he was targeted for personal gains, alleging Meesha Shafi of wanting Canadian immigration.

He said that Meesha wanted international recognition there and wanted to become a Malala.

He said that the allegations against him are false, adding that propaganda is being done against him through fake Twitter accounts.

Meesha Shafi had alleged her colleague Ali Zafar of sexual harassment in a tweet in June, 2018.

Using the #Metoo hashtag, Shafi added that it is not easy to speak out but it is harder to stay silent. “My conscience will not allow it anymore,” she added.

Their case is currently under proceeding.
