35 staffers, doctors and workers who performed their duties in anti-polio drive across the province have been killed
Peshawar (Pakistan Point News / Online - 26th April, 2019) 35 staffers, doctors and workers who performed their duties in anti-polio drive across the province have been killed.Situation in Mashu Khail, Budh Bair, native village of Peshawar is still tense while heavy contingent of police is present in the area.Furthermore, 9 more people have been arrested.According to a report, Khasadar force, Levies force, K-P police, doctors and polio workers have been targeted by extremists.
During one week, one polio worker and a police personal appointed at duty was killed.Another polio worker Wajid Ali was shot down in district Mohmand last week while a day earlier another police personal who was on his way for polio duty was killed.Earlier, polio workers in Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda and in other districts had also been killed.After targeting female polio workers several polio workers have resigned as polio workers and refused to do their job.
