SC Dismisses Appeal Against Life Imprisonment

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2016 ) : The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed an appeal of convict Karim Bukhsh against life imprisonment sentence awarded by trial court and upheld by the Balochistan High Court.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan heard the case. It may be mentioned that Karim Bukhsh, a resident of Jaffarabad district, was awarded life imprisonment by the trial court for murdering three persons, including a woman, in 2001.
The sentence was maintained by the Balochistan High Court. During the course ofproceedings, Advocate Ahmad Qureshi counsel for Karim Bukhsh informed the apex court that it was a case of honour killing and five people were nominated in the First Information Report (FIR).
He said his client was not involved in the killings. The court after hearing arguments of counsel of both sides dismissed the petitioner's appeal.
