Bilawal Urges Concerted Efforts Against Diabetes

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2016 ) : Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has issued a country-wide alert against rising number of diabetes and urged the people to play their individual and collective role for creating awareness against the disease to stop its uncontrolled spread.
In his message on the World Diabetes Day being observed across the globe on Monday, the PPP Chairman said that he was greatly concerned over the figures showing that 8% of Pakistanis have turned victim of this deadly disease taking heavy toll.
`This is shocking that 90,000 Pakistanis are dying annually due to diabetes and number of the patients was on the constant rise from seven million people already affected', he added. PPP Chairman said that a healthy diet, continuous exercise and effective healthcare were key steps for saving more people falling to diabetes.
