Diabetes Mother Of All Diseases: Experts

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2016 ) : Diabetes is mother of all diseases which destroys human body silently and its danger can be avoided only by spreading maximum awareness among the masses about timely diagnose and preventive measures.
This was said by Prof Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute(PGMI) and Lahore General Hospital, and other medical experts on the World Diabetes Day during an awareness walk held at LGH here on Monday.
The walk was largely attended by the masses, nurses, doctors, faculty members and others,including artiste Adil Hashmi and Columnist Sajjad Mir. A free medical camp was also conducted where a large number of people got their tests free of cost.
Prof Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab while talking to the media said such walks played an important role in a process of informing people to be alert from diabetes. He said current numbers of diabetes patients in Pakistan was 7 million which could be doubled in 2040 if emergency steps were not taken immediately.
Dr Imran Hassan Khan said that diabetes was always very dangerous to human heart and kidneys. It could also affect eyesight. He stressed upon parents to keep close eye on their bulky kids and watch their habits of television and computer watching. Later,gifts were also distributed among patients through balloting.
