COAS Attends Funeral Of Shaheed Soldiers; Briefed On LoC

RAWALPINDI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2016 ) : Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday attended funeral prayers of shaheed soldiers at Jehlum who had embraced martyrdom following unprovoked firing by the Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday late.
Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt. Gen Asim Salim Bajwa in a tweet said, the COAS paid rich tributes to the valor and unmatched sacrifices rendered by the soldiers of Pakistan Army.
The COAS was later briefed on the situation at LoC. On the occasion he reiterated the determination by saying we will continue to respond effectively and leave no stone unturned to defend the motherland.
Meanwhile, those soldiers who had laid their lives in the defence of the motherland included Havaldar Zafar Hussain from Murree, Havaldar Ibrar Ahmed Awan from Muzaffarabad, Lance Naik Muhammad Shoukat from Kahuta, Lance Naik Muhammad Haleem from Lakki Marwat, Sepoy Pervez from Authmuqam, Sepoy Muhammad Ilyas from Talagang and Sepoy Muhammad Tanveer from Samahni of Azad Kashmir.
All the seven soldiers had embraced martyrdom as the Indian forces at Bhimber sector had resorted to unprovoked firing, in violation of the ceasefire on Sunday late.
