ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2019) Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, SZGM, accompanied by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, Spiritual Guru of BAPS in India, and his accompanying delegation.
Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director-General of the SZGM, received Sheikh Nahyan and Maharaj, who reviewed the message of coexistence, tolerance and openness from a local cultural expert, as well as the role of the mosque in showcasing islam’s tolerant culture and promoting communication between various cultures and people from around the world. They were also introduced to the Islamic architecture of the mosque, told about the date of its establishment and the message of its founder, the Father, Sheikh Zayed.
They then learned about the role the mosque plays in creating bridges of communication between religions and cultures, inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of establishing the values of tolerance, coexistence and openness, as well as by the Islamic values of peace and respect for others, regardless of their beliefs.
At the end of the visit, Sheikh Nahyan received a copy of the book, "Spaces of Light", which was published by the SZGM and includes several photographs from the "Spaces of Light Photography Award", which showcases the Islamic architecture of the mosque.
