Over Half Of Russians Keep Track Of Moscow's Foreign Policies - Poll

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th April, 2019) Fifty-four percent of Russian nationals follow the country's external policies and 44 percent believe there are more successes than failures in them, the fresh results of a poll conducted by the local Public Opinion Foundation research agency showed on Friday.

According to the poll, 44 percent of Russians are not interested in Moscow's foreign affairs, while 25 percent of those polled take an unfavorable view of them.

Thirteen percent of the respondents mentioned Russia's support for Syria as one of the successes in its external policies. Nine percent of Russians mentioned Crimea's reunification with Russia and six percent pointed to Moscow's relations with other states in this list.

Nine percent of Russians see tense relations with Ukraine among the failures of Russia's foreign affairs, while eight percent of those polled suggested Moscow's relations with Washington and anti-Russian sanctions were among the failures.

Among people aged between 18 and 30, 73 percent of respondents are interested in external policies. The share of those interested among people who have no higher education is 49 percent.

Seventy-three percent of Russians older than 60 years tend to keep track of the foreign policies, while this is not a point of interest for 60 percent of the residents of Moscow.

Forty percent of Russians believe that the country's leadership dedicates as much effort as needed to the foreign affairs, while 31 percent suggested that the authorities paid too much attention to this topic.

The poll was conducted on April 13-15 among 1,500 Russian in 53 country's regions.
