NAB Chairman For Bolstering Ties With China In Anti-corruption Work

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Nov, 2016 ) : National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Saturday held a meeting with officials of China's National Bureau of Corruption Prevention and other related departments and talked about strategic partnership between the two countries.
Hou Changan, Secretary of CDI of CPC, Wu Qi, Director General of National Bureau of Corruption Prevention Hubei and Qan Puliu, Director General Foreign Office at Hubei, China were present in the meeting, said a message received here from China on Saturday.
The officials of the two countries expressed their firm commitment to cooperate for eradicating corruption. Qamar Zaman underlined the need for future cooperation in the field of anti-corruption work.
He said signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Pakistan and China for collaboration in anti-corruption work was a very significant step as it would enhance cooperation between the two countries to eradicate corruption.
He said with an aim to create awareness against the ill-effects of corruption among the youth of Pakistan, NAB in collaboration with Higher education Commission (HEC) signed a MOU. Over 42000 Character Building Societies (CBSs) had been established by NAB in universities and colleges to create awareness against corruption as youths are considered a vanguard in this fight, he added.
The NAB Chairman said the Bureau was committed to eradicating corruption from Pakistan by adopting zero tolerance policy. The NAB's anti-corruption campaign in Pakistan would continue in the year 2016 as it proved very successful during 2015.
He said expressed the hope that joint efforts of all stakeholders could collaborate to check corruption and corrupt practices before happening with the help of all stakeholders, civil society, media and people at large.
