Haider XI, Lucky Stars Advance In 8th Right To Play Soccer

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Nov, 2016 ) : Haider XI and Lucky stars advance to next round after securing victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing 8th Right to Play District Mardan Inter-Club Football Championship being played at Younis Stadium Mardan on Saturday.
Member District Council Mardan Khais Al Gohar was the chief guest on this occasion and before the start of the matches the players of all the four teams were introduced to him. International football player Muhammad Zahir of NBP and other member of the DFA Mardan were also present.
There were large number of vociferous football spectators who witnessed the match by supported the players with their cheering hands. In the first match Haider XI defeated Abaseen club Mayar by 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out battle before playing a goal-less draw.
Both Haider XI and Abaseen club Mardan have plenty of chances to score but failed due to poor finishing. To decide the fate, both were awarded five each penalty kicks on which Haider XI team converted all five chances but Abaseen Club missed a target when the attempt of Zahid went wide from the goal-post and thus Haider XI moved to the next round.
In the second match center forward Muhammad Ijaz slammed in two quick-goals in the 7th and 12th minute to steer Lucky Stars to 2-1 victory against Iftikhar Club Mardan. Right from the kick-back Lucky Stars dominated the first session and scored two quick-goals against strong Iftikhar Club of Par Hoti Mardan.
Promising Ijaz was the scorer who twice netted beautiful goals on the field attempt while for Itikhar Club left winger Daud Khan reduced the margin on the field attempt. It was in the second session in which Iftikhar Club also got a penalty kick but unluckily the attempt of mid-fielder Yasir was nicely intercepted by Lucky Stars goal-keeper Afsar.
Thus Lucky Stars won the match by 2-1. Khair Ul Amin supervised the match while Arsalan and Muhammad Nawaz acted as deputy referees while Fida Muhammad acted as match commissioner.
