Iqbal Day Celebrations Continue At PU

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) : In connection with the celebrations of Iqbal Day, Punjab University Oriental College, Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics (MMG), Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS) and College of Earth & Environmental Sciences (CEES) organized various events to pay tribute Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

The events were attended by senior faculty members, officials and a large number of students. MMG Department organized events in which students presented Kalam-e-Iqbal and speeches regarding life and teachings of Allama Iqbal.

Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Rehman and Dr Nousheen presented the poetry of Allama Iqbal.

Oriental College organized a seminar to highlight various aspects of life, teachings and concepts presented by the conceiver of Pakistan.

The seminar was addressed by Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning Prof Dr Muhammad Fakhar-ul-Haq Noori, Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Ikram Shah, Dr Nusrat Nisar, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran and Prof Dr Mazhar Mooen.

In Centre for South Asian studies, quiz competition, seminar and discussion programs were organized. College of Earth and Environmental Sciences organized debate competition on "Apna Muqam Paida Kar" and a quiz competition. A documentary was screened and a tableau was presented by the students on the life of Allama Iqbal.
