Dr Javid Iqbal remembered at Pembroke College

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) : Pembroke College, the constituent college of the University of Cambridge hosted an event to remember Dr Javid Iqbal, son of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

The event, that coincided with the birth anniversary (November 9) of the poet of the East, Allama Iqbal also featured the launching of a book `Life after Iqbal' written by Sabeena Khan, said a press release received here Friday.

The book is an insight into what happened to Sir Muhammad Iqbal's vision after his death in 1938, up to today, through the eyes of his children, Dr Javid Iqbal and Muneera Iqbal.

Dr. Javid Iqbal came to Pembroke College for a PhD in Islamic Philosophy in 1949 and later on served as a senior Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, the grandson of Allama Iqbal, Waleed Iqbal shed light on Allama Iqbal's philosophy and achievements. The event was also attended by a representative from the Pakistan High Commission in London.
