Angry Mob Ambushes HESCO Office To Retaliate Power Cut Off

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) : The removal of over one hundred illegal power connections at village Manthar Shoro of Qasimabad Taluka by special team of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) irked the residents who retaliated by attacking HESCO Citizen Colony Sub-Division.
The HESCO spokesman informed here Friday that a special team of HESCO headed by Najamuddin Abro has disconnected the power supply of Village Manthar Shoro of Qasimabad Taluka on charge of non-payment of outstanding dues of Rs.
5.1 million. The team consisting Executive Engineer Riaz Pathan, Sub-Divisional Officer Munir Shaikh and Incharge Protection Cell DSP Ghulam Shabbir Sarki also removed over one hundred illegal connections of the village.
In retaliation, an angry mob consisting of around 300 residents of Village Manthar Shoro attacked the office of HESCO Citizen Colony Sub-Division, manhandled the employees on duty and made them hostage.
On such act, the SDO Citizen Colony Sub-Division rushed to Nasim Nagar Police Station and submitted letter for registration of FIR against the attackers. The HESCO management demanded the registration of case against those who ransacked the Sub-Divisional Office and recover outstanding dues from 35 defaulters of Village Mathar Shoro.
Meanwhile, the spokesman informed that a group of 150 persons also staged sit in outside the office of HESCO Jamshoro Sub-Division demanding restoration of electricity in their areas. The HESCO teams have disconnected the power supply of 12 villages of HESCO Jamshoro Sub-Division including Village Manzoorabad, Village Petaro, Khanot, Gharibabad and Chawar village following non-payment of outstanding dues of over Rs.
32.5 million, the HESCO spokesman informed.
