Federal Govt Taking Steps For Development In Karachi: Ahsan

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) : Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Prof Ahsan Iqbal Friday said that Karachi is the economic and financial hub of the country.

Talking to reporters here after attending a function at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, held for solving the city's transport problems, he said the Green Line Bus Service was being initiated here in collaboration with the federal government.

The minister said the federal government was contributing Rs six billion for water supply project in Karachi. Ahsan Iqbal said that the educational projects initiated by the PML-N government at that time were cancelled by the then government of Pervez Musharraf.

If the elected PML-N government was not dislodged in 1999, there would have been thousands of Ph.Ds in the country by now, he added.
