Three Gangs Busted; 203 Including 72 POs Arrested During Seven Days

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Nov, 2016 ) :- Rawalpindi police have busted three gangs of dacoits, cars/motorcycles lifters, robbers and street criminals and arrested their 14 members, 72 Proclaimed Offenders (POs), 60 drug traffickers, 37 for having illegal weapons during last seven days.
According to a police spokesman, police recovered eight stolen vehicles, five motorcycles, 41 pistols with 179 rounds, a rifle, two laptops, two LCDs, four mobile phones and cash Rs 1.2 million.
Police teams constituted on the directive of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi also arrested accused allegedly involved in two blind murder cases. 72 POs including nine most wanted criminals were also sent behind the bars during the period, he said adding, 11 dacoits were also held and police recovered cash Rs 260,000 and gold ornaments.
Police conducted raids and netted 80 drug traffickers besides recovering 37.
125 kg charras, 500 grams heroin, 369 bottles of liquor. Three drunkards were also apprehended. The spokesman informed, police took strict action against anti-social elements and 37 for having illegal weapons were rounded up on recovery of 33 pistols, a rifle, three daggers and 141 rounds.
He said, four kite sellers were also nabbed and police seized 570 kites and 66 kite flying string rolls during the period. He told that the officials concerned were assigned the task to curb activities of mischievous elements through high vigilance and effective policing.
Following these directions, strict patrolling was being maintained in the district and the police have busted three gangs. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.
