Senate Standing Committee on Interior seeks detailed report on Quetta blast

The committee headed by Senator Rehman Malik expressed concerns over the targeting of Hazara community

LAHORE-(Pakistan Point News- 13th April 2019) The Senate Standing Committee on Interior has sought a detailed report from the government over the actions taken against banned outfits in Balochistan.

The committee headed by Senator Rehman Malik asked for the report in the background of Quetta and Chaman blasts which took lives of 22 people, injuring more than three dozen.

The committee had also asked the interior ministry to appraise it over the latest law and order situation in the province. A detailed report on blast incidents was also sought from the government.

The Senate panel expressed grief over the targeting of the Hazara community, it condemned the killings and expressed grief to the families of the victims.

It was decided that the next meeting would be held in Quetta, specifically on the agenda of the Hazara killings.

The committee expressed concerns over the release of the activists of banned outfits in Balochistan and sought a detailed report on the release.

Senator Rehman Malik said the one could not ruled out the involved of foreign factors in these kind of terrorist activities in the province, highlighting the need for strict security and intelligent measures to stop these incidents in future.
